The first six weeks matter
WHO emphasizes early assessment after birth and follow-up at appropriate points in the first weeks. People with complications or risk factors may need more frequent care.
Physical recovery
Monitor bleeding, pain, blood pressure, wounds, urination and signs of infection. Increase activity gradually according to medical guidance.
Infant feeding
Families should receive practical, safe and non-judgmental feeding support that fits their circumstances and professional advice.
Postpartum emotional health
Persistent low mood or anxiety, panic, prolonged insomnia or feeling unsafe are reasons to contact a healthcare professional promptly.
